Methodology

How recommendations are judged.

Apartment Power Guide starts with apartment constraints before product specs. A recommendation has to make sense for renters who may have lease limits, shared walls, limited storage, no roof access, and no permission to modify electrical systems.

Evaluation criteria

  • Safety: no indoor generators, balcony fuel use, overloaded extension-cord nests, or improvised backfeeding.
  • Renter fit: reversible, storable, quiet, and usable without permanent installation.
  • Load realism: phones, laptops, router, lights, fans, medication devices, and limited appliance windows before fantasy whole-apartment claims.
  • Recharge plan: wall, car, and portable solar options are judged separately from battery size.
  • Value: price should match the real continuity problem, not just the largest spec sheet.

The site does not claim hands-on testing unless a guide explicitly says a product was tested. Otherwise recommendations should be based on published specs, safety constraints, compatibility, buyer intent, and clearly stated trade-offs.
